Top 3 Zombie Comedies to Watch Right Now!

Not all Halloween Movies have to be Scary!

I frickin love Halloween! It is by far something I look forward to every single year.  I love dressing up and partaking in all the festivities that surround the holiday. Most of all, I enjoy going to the movies and seeing the hottest and most anticipated horror movies that come out every October. However, I absolutely HATE scary movies!

I am one who gets easily scared while watching a horror movie. If you ask any of my friends or family members, they’ll tell you that I am such a wimp when it comes to scary things and they’re not wrong! I honestly do it to myself, and I have no idea why I still go to see all these horror films.  Maybe it is because I want to challenge myself by trying not to be scared, or maybe its because I don’t want my friends to call me a bench. Who knows?

Once again I love the spirit of Halloween and the classic scary vibe that surrounds the holiday, but the purpose of my blog is to acknowledge and appreciate the very sparse genre of horror comedy. Not all Halloween movies have to be scary!  I love the horror comedies that involve zombies.  I think some of the movies that were specifically driven towards this specific topic are absolutely hysterical. Although, this genre is very limited,  I feel like these movies that will be mentioned stand out and should be watched by all the ash viewers out there this Halloween season. Here are my top three zombie horror comedies:

Warm Bodies (2013)- This romantic comedy is absolutely phenomenal.  It is an interesting spin on a Romeo & Juliet type of story. The stellar acting and chemistry of Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer makes it seem completely normal to fall in love with a corpse (NOT A NECROPHILIA PUN). This movie also has two very talented and funny actors in John Malkovich and Rob Corddry who are fantastic in their roles.  There are many funny moments that highlight the essence of a teenage romance, and just very relatable to anyone who watches.

Shaun of the Dead (2004)- An all-time classic! This movie never gets old for me and I could watch it over and over again and never get tired of it. This movie stars the dynamic British comedic duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.  This film does an amazing job at poking fun at your standard traditional zombie movie cliches mixed with quirky British humor.  This movie will have you laughing from start to finish as two average joe losers take on the zombie plague.

Zombieland (2009)- In my personal opinion, this is the best zombie comedy movie to watch for one simple reason……….Bill Murray! You know if you have Bill Murray in your movie it’s gonna be epic. Besides that fact, this movie is filled with an all-star cast of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. This movie has the perfect combination of violence and crudeness.  Woody Harrelson’s ongoing quest to search for the last Twinkie on Earth is priceless.  The movie is far different from your traditional zombie tale, and shows how four extremely different personalities can manage to survive against the walking dead in the most ridiculous circumstances!
